| Regular shuttles run from the visitors' center to the picnic areas and
trailheads (the Bear Canyon trailhead is 2 miles from the parking area) and
Seven Falls in another 2.2 miles from the trailhead.
Just a mile into the hike, away from the crowds and the picnic areas, it's a
different world. Bear Canyon Trail parallels or criss-crosses Bear Creek most of
the way, and the canyon walls rise higher and higher as you approach the Seven
Falls area. There are nice views of Sabino and Bear Canyons as the trail climbs
to Bear Saddle.
Seven Falls is a series of waterfalls, each with a pool at its base, 2.2
miles from the start of Bear Canyon trail. A well-maintained side trail will
take you to the popular swimming hole, and turnaround point for most hikers.
Bear Canyon trail continues another 6 miles. |
