TROY -- Albert J. Ramroth, 80, of Third Ave., died Tuesday December 23, 1997 at his home after a brief illness. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Charles and Delvina Ramroth and the husband of Marie Hassleroth. He attended Troy Schools. Mr. Ramroth was a Sargeant in the Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the Ground Crew for the 387th Bomb Group and the 556th Bomb Squadron and took part in the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Invasion. Mr. Ramroth was retired from Suburban Propane Coporation in Albany. He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Anne Crow of Saugerties, and Mary Ellen Cusano of Niskayuna; two grandchildren, Jospeh Piscitella of Chandler, AZ and Anthony Piscitella of Troy. Also survived by two great-grandchildren. Mr. Ramroth chose to donate his body for medical research. A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine's Church on Saturday December 27th, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. If desired contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 8 North Lake Ave., Troy NY 12180. BRUNSWICK - Thomas W. Ramroth, 80, of Country Way, died Wednesday at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Charles and Delvina Beaudoin Ramroth and husband of Grace Withcuskey Ramroth.
He had resided in Brunswick past two years and in Troy most of his life and was educated at Troy schools.
Mr. Ramroth owned and operated a service station at Hoosick and River streets in Troy in the 1940s and more recently worked in the finishing department of the Norton Co. in Watervliet for several years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the Paper Makers Union and Norton Retirees.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Delgra Childs and husband John Brown Childs of Santa Cruz, CA, and Dale Bentley and husband Robert Bentley of West Sand Lake; a brother, Charles Ramroth and wife Lee of Lake Isabella, CA; a sister, Alice Menges of Rochester; two grandchildren, Andy and Dan Bentley both of West Sand Lake and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Gail M. Ramroth.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Bryce Funeral Home Inc., corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery in Troy.
