Amy & Joe Piscitella
Scuba Diving Page

We took the PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Certification Course.  The classroom part of the course was April 14-16, 2000.   The first two days were actually in the classroom and the 3rd day was in a pool.   The day in the pool was a long but fun day.  We only had 5 people in our class so we got a lot of 1:1 training.  This certification was part of Amy's birthday present.  Thanks to Chris, David, and Joe!!

We are working on getting all the basic equipment so that we are able to go anywhere and only have to rent the tanks and a wet suit if needed.  Joe got us off to a good start last February before the class.   Click here to see the equipment that Amy & Joe got for Amy's birthday.  Joe's color scheme is black and silver and Amy's color scheme is black and cobolt blue.

We completed the Open Water Certification in Catalina, CA May 11-14, 2000.  We drove over to Long Beach, CA with Paula Chronzinski (the dive master) Thursday morning to meet up with our Dive Instructor, Darrel Dupree, at the dock.  We took the 4:00 ferry over to Catalina Island and then spent the rest of the night relaxing and walking around the town.  Saturday morning we went out on a boat trip.  There were the 4 of us (Joe, Amy, the dive instructor, and the dive master) and two other people on the trip.  We stopped at two different dive sites.  The first one was a little nerve racking since it was our first dive.   But everything went really good after Joe finally got weighted correctly.  We did not do any skills on the first dive, we just swam around and got used to diving.   By the second dive, we already felt more comfortable being under water.   Sunday we did 3 shore dives off Casino Point.  The first two were to complete the certification.  The third dive we were CERTIFIED and able to go by ourselves.   We had so much fun that we got up really early Sunday morning to get one more dive in before we had to catch the ferry back to Long Beach.

Time again for some vacation and diving.  This time were are meeting Darin and Kit in Tampa Florida for some fun at Busch Gardens before head down to Key West together for some diving.  On Nov 15 and 16 of 2000 we did four dives off the coast of Key West Florida.  The details of the dives are captured on our Key West dive page.

May 24- 26, 2001 and we are back to Catalina Island, Avalon CA again for more diving.  This time there is more in planned than just diving.  Amy doesn't know that I plan on asking her to marry me.  The big questions is do I do it 60 feet under water while we are on a dive?  Check out our Catalina Island trip page to see what happened.

Long Caye Island in Belize, C.A 4/15 & 4/16 2002.  Now we are up for some serious diving.  This has to be the most exciting trip to date that we have planned.  We are leaving the country to stay on an island for 4 and there is going to be a lot of time for diving.  Come see what we saw on our dives.
