Back to Venice Murano Glass Blowing Factory Back to Main Wedding Page

On Murano Island, we took a tour through their glass blowing factory.  We first got to watch someone working on a project.

Then a man came over and started to show us up close how they create shapes from the hot glass.  It was amazing how easy he made it look.

Then before we knew it, the piece of glass was turning into the shape of a horse.  It was glowing red while he worked on it.  Then he let it sit for about 10 minutes while it cooled and the red inside turned a deep purple color (see picture on right).  They gave it to us as a wedding gift.
